On behalf of the University of Miami School/Collegeof ____________, please accept our sincere gratitude for your contribution of $_______ to establish an endowment for _______________________________________.

The University of Miami’s policy for endowment stipulates that a minimum of $20,000 (twenty thousand dollars) is required to open an endowment fund.  This amount needs to be secured in commitments from additional donors within the following year. I wanted you to know that until we secure these commitments from other donors, your funds will be held in a University suspense account.

It is our intention to raise sufficient funds to establish an endowment for _____________. This will require a total of $________.  In the event that the endowment has not reached full funding within 5 years, the Dean of the University of Miami School/College of ________ will have the final authority to determine the appropriate use of the funds. This includes the establishment of a different level of endowment.
